Software tailored to the business it serves.
Softmedia CTS is the independent engineering studio of Radu Găleșanu — full-stack developer and architect with 25+ years of production systems for clients in the US, Europe and Asia. One senior contact. End-to-end delivery. Maintenance measured in decades, not sprints.
What I build
Web platforms
From focused prototypes to systems entire teams rely on every day — architecture, backend, frontend and the database underneath.
Mobile apps
Consumer apps designed, built and shipped to both app stores, then maintained and evolved through years of iOS and Android platform changes.
Enterprise systems
Business software shaped around real workflows: quoting, orders, production tracking — the tools a company runs on.
APIs & integrations
Public API design and battle-tested integrations: PayPal, Kount fraud screening, Google, Amazon, USPS and more.
Data & automation
Large-scale crawling and data mining, ingestion pipelines, and search across hundreds of millions of records.
AI engineering
AI products built end to end: full-duplex multilingual voice interfaces, MCP servers wiring models into business systems — and AI-assisted delivery with real architecture and testing discipline.
Selected work
A decade of product engineering for a global marketplace
Three mobile applications, a public REST API, a reverse image search system covering the entire 360-million-photo library, and a push-notification platform delivering millions of messages a day under complex targeting rules — plus the WordPress plugin, Google Workspace and Microsoft Office add-ins, and the internal tools staff use daily.
The quoting engine a factory runs on
A product configurator built for a specialized European manufacturing niche, combining CPQ, ERP and CRM in one platform. Dozens of employees use it daily; every offer and every project the company tracks flows through it.
Ask for a quote — by voice, in multiple languages
A mobile app (iOS & Android) that holds a full-duplex voice conversation — "give me a quote for a 3000×3000 canopy" — in the customer's language, with male or female voices. Behind it: a Python/uvicorn backend and an MCP server that hands the model the CPQ's real tools, so spoken quotes follow the same configuration and pricing rules the factory runs on.
Exchange rates, live — banks and exchange offices
An exchange-rate platform covering banks and exchange offices across Romania and Poland — minute-level updates, email and push alerts, and platform accounts through which most exchange offices manage their own published rates.
When Formula 1's connectivity partner needed an F1 widget
Tata Communications — at the time Formula 1's official connectivity provider — commissioned a custom-branded version of my own F1 race-countdown widget: licensed, adapted and delivered under contract. One of the engagements that put Softmedia's work on three continents.
- A licensed-image usage monitor for Dreamstime — scanning millions of pages, verifying credit lines and automating outreach and follow-ups to site owners.
- A garment pattern-making CAD (early 2010s) — patterns defined as parametric curves with measurement-driven modification rules, integrated into a fabric-sales platform with 3D simulation of the chosen fabric on the chosen garment.
- A bulk-listing platform for Amazon Handmade, driven by a complex browser add-on — built for Vendio, my former employer turned client.
About
I'm Radu Găleșanu — engineer, founder and the single point of contact at Softmedia CTS. Computer science degree from Politehnica Bucharest, a second degree in multimedia from UNATC, nine years building high-volume e-commerce at Vendio, and since 2008 an independent studio trusted with systems that stay in production for a decade or more. I work across the whole stack — and I answer my own email.
It started in 1988 with a ZX Spectrum and a BASIC listing typed in by hand. The logo says the rest: a play button where a terminal cursor blinks — software and media production in one glyph, code first, with a producer's eye for what people see and hear.
